Country-style Radish Salad
This is a simple yet delicious Korean countryside-style radish salad (Sigol mu-saengchae). It's a fresh, crisp, spicy, and salty side dish with a rich, savory flavor and a nutty aroma from sesame oil, best served with rice.
Ingredients
- 1 pound Korean radish or daikon peeled and cut into thin matchsticks
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 green onion chopped
- 2 tablespoons Korean hot pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 2 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the radish matchsticks, garlic, green onion, gochu-garu, fish sauce, sesame oil, and sesame seeds and mix well by hand.
- Transfer to a large plate or a bowl and serve with rice.
