Hot 'Honey' Tofu
This sweet & spicy hot 'honey' tofu recipe is a vegan-friendlydish that substitutes honey with agave syrup. It features crispy tofu tossed in a flavorful sauce made with gochujang, agave, and chili flakes, served with rice and fresh toppings.
Ingredients
- 1 block block tofu, pad dry & cubed
- 4 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp oil
- 4 cloves garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp Gochujang paste
- 0.33 cup agave syrup
- 1 tbsp chili flakes (reduce if you want it less spicy)
- 1 juice of lemon
Instructions
- Tear the tofu into large chunks. Coat with the cornstarch, oil, and season with salt & pepper. Bake in the air fryer for 15 minutes at 200c.
- Meanwhile, sauté the garlic in some oil on medium heat for 30 seconds. Add the Gochujang, agave & chili flakes. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the lemon juice, salt & pepper to the sauce and mix well.
- Add the tofu cubes to the sauce and toss to combine.
- Serve with rice, spring onions, sesame seeds & pickled onions. Enjoy!
